And the Little People Fly, ACMI, Melbourne, Sept 20

Comedian Tim Ross, the creator of the award-winning ABC series Streets Of Your Town, turns his gaze to the footy-loving suburbs of his youth in an exploration of football nostalgia and childhood.

Using personal anecdotes, archival images and footage from the ACMI collection, Tim will roll around in our collective memories of personally curated club duffle coats, the trading of football cards, suburban clashes, asphalt grazed Sherrins and more.

Joining him as a guest for this special live show is former Western Bulldogs great and renaissance man Bob Murphy.

Bob Murphy played for the Western Bulldogs for 17 years and was their captain from 2015 to 2017. In 2015 Murphy was named captain of the year at the AFL Players Association awards and was also captain of the All-Australian team. The following year, the Bulldogs won their first premiership in 62 years. Murphy has written regularly for The Age, as well as penning his first book Murphy’s Lore and his recently released memoirs Leather Soul.
