Design Nation started as an exhibition, originally curated by Tim Ross for MAAS in Sydney. Bringing together outstanding examples of Australian ingenuity and innovation from the MAAS collection and casting a spotlight on Australia’s rich manufacturing history. Looking at design objects from the mid-1960s to late 1980s, which reflect on a golden age of innovation in Australia, a period in which ‘Australian Made’ contributed to significant economic growth and many of our locally designed products enjoyed unprecedented international success.
Bringing the static exhibition to life, Tim Ross presents DESIGN NATION LIVE, a nationally touring talk inviting guests to rediscover these ubiquitous, everyday objects of Australian design through previously untold stories and design narratives, revealing how our unique design histories have helped shape our national identity.
The show runs for 1 hour and 10 mins and includes question and answers, meet and greet with Tim Ross post event.
